Wood Floor Master Installer Class
Want to sharpen your skills?
Need a change of pace?
Spend four whole days working with Master Craftsmen, learning the techniques required to design, layout, fabricate, and install Borders, Medallions, curved and tapered elements, herringbone, parquetry, end grain mosaic, scroll-saw free-hand inlays, brass. Try new things and tools without having to worry about screwing up a real job.
Proper techniques will be demonstrated, then followed up with actual hands-on installation experience in the 12' x 20' studio room floor! Each team will also make their own medallions and get to practice several methods of bending wood design elements.
Standard wood flooring installation tools will be used. Powernailers, circular saw, table saw, router as well as the track saw and scroll saw. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the number of advanced techniques to be demonstrated and practiced, there won't be time for basic instruction. Students should be competent installers comfortable using nailing machines, circular saws, and table saws.
Bring your own hand tools (hammer, chisels, block planes, hand saws, etc.) and come ready to get down to work!
Limited to 12 students. Reserve your spot by emailing Betty Jo Hargrave or calling 303-923-6632.
FROM THE INSTRUCTOR
"This class is designed to be the avid contractor's answer to an extreme sports vacation! You can't beat the camraderie of working side by side and the small class size provides many opportunities to demonstrate how several separate relatively simple techniques can be combined to produce exceptional results."
