Advanced Wood Floor Inspection School

Who wants to be a nail sticking up in a room full of hammers?

Brickman Consulting announces the next Advanced Wood Floor Inspection School in New Orleans December 3-7, 2007. We are happy to return to the "Big Easy". We will be located off Canal Street 2 blocks from the French Quarter an easy walk to all of the finest dining and evening entertainment, but away from the noise to make the stay more comfortable. We have arranged a group rate of $75./night which is available before and after out meeting dates. Air travel into New Orleans is convenient with some very attractive fares available with advanced notice. This is a great place to visit in early December with the warmth off the Gulf without the stifling heat. We use the Cotton Exchange Hotel which has been acquired by Holiday Inn and has excellent conference room facilities for up to 20 students. Course tuition is $1,795.

This will be the 16th teaching of the Advanced Inspection class since the initial class in Dalton, GA, in February, 2003. We have taught the course in Charlotte, Chicago, Dalton(2), Houston(2), Las Vegas, Memphis, New Orleans(2), Orlando(2), Reno, Washington DC(2). Howard Brickman teaches the class with Will Stoner of Inspector Training Services for Floor Coverings. From the beginning the course has had a reputation for being a demanding and challenging learning environment offering state of the art instruction concerning psychrometrics, wood science, wood anatomy, building construction technology, inspection tools and equipment, inspection techniques, report writing, and concrete moisture testing. "Our approach to the Inspection process is science based. We teach how the underlying scientific principles apply to the floor covering and wood floor industry. We provide knowledge based on well written authoritative textbooks written specifically for the wood science profession."

Manufacturers, distributors, Installation Contractors, and Inspectors from throughout the flooring industry have attended the Advanced Inspection Course. Classroom instruction occurs on Monday through Thursday with Friday reserved for testing. We offer the NWFACP Certified Wood Floor Inspectors' Exam (you pay NWFACP DIRECTLY) in addition to the ITSFC (included in the Course fee) Certification exam. You can also become certified with the SlabSafe Concrete Moisture Testing System.

Howard Brickman has over 30 years experience in the construction and wood flooring industry. He is the former Manager of Inspections and School Services at NOFMA. Has operated his own consulting and wood floor contracting business since 1984. He spent over three years as a full-time graduate student in Wood Science and Anatomy.
